Seller Terms
Last updated: July 10, 2026
1. About these terms
These Seller Terms govern selling on Thriftr and are in addition to our Terms of Service. Thriftr is operated by Blinc, a sole proprietorship registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Thriftr is a marketplace intermediary: the contract of sale for an item is between you (the seller) and the buyer. Thriftr is not the seller or owner of the goods.
2. Eligibility & verification
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- You sell in your personal capacity as a casual seller — your own pre-loved fashion ("sell your own closet"), not as a registered business or reseller of new stock.
- Sellers are verified via Instagram (a one-time code you send to our Instagram, @thriftr.world, reviewed by our team). You give us your public Instagram handle and follower count for verification and display. Your profile photo is one you upload yourself.
3. Casual selling, declarations & taxes
Thriftr is built for casual sellers selling personal used goods. You confirm (via the in-app personal-goods declaration) that the items you list are your own pre-loved belongings. You are responsible for your own tax obligations arising from your sales. Casual sale of personal pre-owned goods generally does not require a GSTIN, but you remain responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
4. Listing rules
- List honestly: accurate title, description, brand, size, condition, and your own clear photos of the actual item.
- Price in good faith and honour the listed price for any resulting order.
- If you enter an "original price" (shown struck-through beside your price), it must be the genuine price you paid or the item's actual retail price — not an inflated figure to make the discount look bigger. Buyers are told this figure is seller-stated; a misleading one is a misleading advertisement under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and can lead to removal.
- Do not list items you do not physically own and intend to ship.
- Listings may be screened (including by automated tools) and removed if they breach these terms.
5. Prohibited items
You may not list, among other things:
- Counterfeit, replica, or trademark-infringing goods of any kind.
- Used innerwear, lingerie, or swimwear (hygiene), and any soiled or unhygienic items.
- Non-apparel goods — Thriftr is a fashion-only marketplace.
- Stolen, recalled, or unlawfully obtained items.
- Weapons, hazardous materials, or anything restricted or prohibited by Indian law.
- Items that infringe another person's intellectual-property or other rights.
- Offensive, obscene, or hateful material.
6. Fees & payouts
- Thriftr charges a seller convenience fee on each sale, deducted from your earnings; the current rate is shown in the app before you list. The fee is inclusive of applicable GST, which Blinc accounts for on its fees — you do not need a GSTIN to sell (see section 3).
- Your earnings for a sale are held in escrow and released to your Thriftr wallet after the order is delivered (for Cash on Delivery, after the collected cash is remitted to us).
- You can withdraw your available wallet balance to your saved bank account or UPI at any time, subject to a minimum withdrawal amount.
- If an order is cancelled, returned, or fails to deliver (for example returned-to-origin), the corresponding earnings are reversed.
7. Shipping & fulfilment
Orders ship through our logistics partner (Shiprocket). You must keep an accurate pickup address and hand over sold items promptly (typically within 3 business days) so the courier can collect them. Repeated failures to ship may lead to order cancellation and account action.
8. Returns & cancellations
Buyers may return items per our Refund Policy (for example, not-as-described, damaged, or wrong item). Where a return is approved, your share for that item is reversed. Buyers may cancel before an order is marked shipped.
9. Suspension & removal
We may remove listings, withhold payouts pending investigation, suspend, or permanently ban a seller (and block the associated Instagram account) for breaching these terms — including selling counterfeits, misrepresenting items, taking transactions off-platform, or repeated fulfilment failures. Where we ban a seller, undelivered orders are cancelled and buyers refunded.
10. Your responsibilities
You represent that you own or have the right to sell each item you list, that your listings are accurate, and that your sales comply with applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Blinc (Thriftr) against claims arising from the items you sell or your breach of these terms.
11. Changes & contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Questions? support@thriftr.shop, or see our Grievance Redressal page.
