Thriftr

Terms of Service

Last updated: July 17, 2026

1. What Thriftr is

Thriftr is a peer-to-peer marketplace where Indian Instagram creators sell pre-loved fashion (apparel) to their followers. We provide the platform; sellers are independent merchants responsible for their listings, shipments, and the condition of their items.

Thriftr (the platform, the brand, and the mobile app) is operated by Blinc, a sole proprietorship registered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. References to "Thriftr", "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms refer to Blinc.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18+ to buy or sell on Thriftr.
  • You must have a valid Indian phone number and shipping address.
  • To become a seller, you must verify an Instagram account with at least the minimum follower threshold (shown on the seller-apply screen). Verification is manual — you DM us a one-time code; we never connect to, post from, or access your Instagram account (see section 3).

3. Instagram verification

To sell on Thriftr you verify the Instagram account behind your shop by sending a one-time code (e.g. thriftr-XXXXX) to our Instagram, @thriftr.world. Our team matches it to your application and approves you — there is no password or account connection, and we never post, message, or act on your behalf. We record only your public Instagram handle and your self-declared follower count, used solely for seller verification.

4. Buying

  • Items are sold "as described" by the seller. Check the photos and condition notes before buying.
  • Orders are Cash on Delivery — you pay the courier in cash when the parcel arrives; nothing is charged up front. The seller's earnings are held by Thriftr until the return window closes.
  • You may return an item within 48 hours of delivery if it doesn't match the listing (wrong size, undisclosed damage, etc.). Every request is reviewed by the Thriftr team, and an approved return refunds the price you paid for the item plus its convenience-fee share — the shipping fee is not refunded. Change-of-mind returns aren't accepted. See the Refund Policy.

5. Selling

  • List items honestly. Disclose all defects in the condition field. Photos must be of the actual item, not stock images.
  • Ship within 3 business days of receiving an order. Shiprocket handles pickup from the address on file.
  • Payouts release 48 hours after delivery if no return is filed.
  • Sellers who repeatedly mislead buyers, ship late, or are flagged by our trust-and-safety team may be suspended or banned.

6. Prohibited items

The following may not be listed:

  • Counterfeit or replica branded goods.
  • Used undergarments or intimate apparel.
  • Items obtained illegally.
  • Anything restricted under Indian law.

7. Prohibited content and conduct

Beyond what you may list, this section covers everything you post or send on Thriftr — listing photos, videos, descriptions, reviews, and support messages. In line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, you must not host, display, upload, publish or share content that:

  • belongs to another person and which you do not have a right to share (including content that infringes a trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right);
  • is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another's privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, or otherwise harmful to children;
  • is defamatory, or promotes enmity, hatred or violence;
  • deceives or misleads about the origin of a message, impersonates another person, or is patently false or misleading and shared to cause harm;
  • threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, public order, or incites any offence;
  • contains a software virus or code designed to disrupt or limit any computer resource, or violates any law in force.

We may remove such content and suspend the account responsible. If you believe content on Thriftr violates these rules or your rights, report it to our Grievance Officer (see our Grievance Redressal page).

8. Reporting counterfeit or infringing listings

Brand owners, rights holders, and their authorised agents can report a listing they believe is counterfeit or infringes their intellectual-property rights by emailing legal@thriftr.shop with (a) the listing link, (b) proof of the right claimed (e.g. trademark registration), and (c) contact details of the complainant. We acknowledge such reports within 24 hours, and take down listings found to be infringing on an expedited basis. Sellers of removed listings are notified with the reason and may respond with evidence of authenticity.

9. How listings are ranked

Search results and browse feeds are ordered by relevance to your query (matching the title, brand, colour and description), listing recency, and item availability; personalised rails (like sellers you follow) use your follows and activity. Sellers cannot pay Thriftr to rank higher in search results. Any "original price" shown struck-through on a listing is stated by the seller and is not a price verified by Thriftr.

10. Seller information

Sellers on Thriftr are independent individuals selling their own pre-loved items. Each listing shows the seller's shop name and verified Instagram handle. If you need a seller's further details for a consumer complaint — including their name and customer care contact — write to our Grievance Officer (see our Grievance Redressal page), and we will provide the information required under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

11. Fees

Thriftr charges a convenience fee on each transaction (a buyer-side fee and a seller-side fee) and a flat shipping fee. Current rates are shown at checkout before you place the order. All Thriftr fees are inclusive of applicable GST, which Blinc accounts for on its fees. Some sellers may have a time-limited 0% seller-fee period. We may revise fees with 30 days' notice.

12. Disputes

Disputes between buyers and sellers should first be raised through the in-app return flow. If unresolved, Thriftr's trust-and-safety team mediates and the decision is final as far as Thriftr's platform remedies are concerned. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

13. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time via our Data Deletion page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with prior notice where reasonable.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan will have jurisdiction — except that if you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your right to file a complaint before the consumer forum / commission having jurisdiction where you reside or work, as provided under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
